Spring Direct Appeal

The WES PTO is proud to abstain from product-based fundraisers, meaning less work
for you and your children (no selling!) and less waste. Instead, we make an
annual direct appeal where 100% of your generous gift goes directly to the PTO.
PTO funding provides for our favorite activities like Visiting Authors, Artist in Residence, Science
Assemblies, Movie Night, Field Trips, Clubs, WES Cares t-shirts, Teacher Mini-Grants and Staff
Appreciation. With any additional resources from the direct appeal, we can also make a significant
improvement on our playground this year!
We are fortunate to have a diverse student population to support and we have noticed that some recess
equipment could use updating to better meet the needs of all.
Our beloved basketball hoops are way past their prime! Currently stationary, our basketball hoops do
not afford the ability for us to raise and lower to meet the needs of students’ various ages, sizes and
abilities. Our goal is to replace both with two new, start of the art, in-ground, adjustable hoops of the
highest safety and quality.

Inclusive playground design is essential in promoting equal access and
participation for children of all abilities, including special physical and
neurodiverse needs, age, size and skill. By providing an environment that
considers ALL the people playing, we foster social interaction for a deep
sense of belonging and a stronger community.
The 2025 fundraising goal is $12,000! All contributions are meaningful
and make an impact. Please donate by May 31st preferably with check
made payable to “WES PTO” using the enclosed envelope or online via
PayPal at weskidspto.com. Company matching is welcome and so
appreciated! All donations are 100% tax-deductible.
The steadfast vision of your PTO is to contribute to sustainable spaces and
activities that enrich all students’ experiences at WES. The upgraded
adjustable hoops prioritize safety, long term stability and the flexibility to
change the height easily providing more opportunity for connection,
learning through play and inclusion.

Thank you for your time and tremendous support of our school, the PTO and all WES students. You are
the real reason we are able to do so much!
